My work discusses physical exposure as a parallel for emotional vulnerability in an effort to celebrate the strength that exists in choosing to stay open to the world. It intends to re-evaluate what we define as weak versus strong.
What does it say about our culture that violence runs rampant in the media, but the human body is policed?
What does it say about our cultures attitude towards women, that our bodies are labeled as pornographic simply for existing?
What does it say that my work about vulnerability and emotional softness made people so uncomfortable that is was reported, censored, and removed?
All acts of censorship carry truths about what our society does and does not find acceptable. Why is the human body unacceptable?
